About IAP

Integrated Animal Production Pty Ltd (lAP) is an internationally recognised, livestock production consultancy firm.

IAP's comprehensive services extend into nutritional and operational programmes for clients within intensive beef, dairy cattle, and sheep industries in Australia, South Africa, and SE Asia. lAP aims to establish a close working relationship with their clients to provide objective, tangible and practical solutions.

Our consultants have a broad national and international educational/commercial background in various disciplines. lAP is actively involved in contractual research and development projects for local and international companies.

IAP is organised in three operative areas with the global mission of promoting 'system science' solutions to livestock production, to improve efficiency and profitability. The three areas include:

  • Consultation in Livestock Nutrition and Health

  • Benchmarking of Operational Management

  • Research and Development

lAP consultants are also actively associated with other consulting firms across four continents that work within animal nutrition, health, operational and feedmill management .

John Doyle DVM, PhD

Managing Director & Consulting Nutritionist

 

John is the Managing Director of Integrated Animal Production Pty Ltd which he founded in December 1997. The business provides consultancy services to beef, dairy and swine industries within Australia as well as South Africa, Indonesia, the USA and Argentina. John's primary focus is within the feedlot industry.

John was raised in San Antonio, Texas, USA and following undergraduate studies in Biology (Texas Lutheran College), completed a Masters in Nutrition (University of Arizona) and, after several years within the industry, he returned to complete veterinarian studies (Tuskegee Institute, School of Veterinarian Medicine, Tuskegee, AL). While practicing veterinary medicine he obtained his PhD in Nutrition in 1989 (Texas A & M University). After broad experiences in feedmill management, nutritional consultancy and as a practicing Veterinarian in the USA, John moved to Australia in 1993.

Aside from consultancy John has a keen interest in research and education. He has served as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Queensland School of Veterinary Medicine (2002) and contributes to the University of Queensland's School of Animal Science with an animal industry lecture series.

Although he is a permanent resident of Australia he maintains his involvement in the family goat and beef ranch in Texas.

Philip Dew BRurSc, MS

Consulting Nutritionist

 

Phil has been a Consulting Nutritionist with lAP Pty Ltd since 2001, providing practical, management and technical advice to feedlot and pastural clients throughout Australia.

 

A life spent in the beef industry, growing up on a beef property and later working in feedlots is complimented with a degree in Rural Science at the University of New England. Phil has also completed a Masters in Ruminant Nutrition at West Texas A&M University in the USA. These experiences have provided broad insights and extensive networks in the cattle industries across Australia and internationally.

Robert Lawrence MRurSc, PhD

Consulting Nutritionist

 

Rob joined IAP Pty Ltd as a Consulting Nutritionist and Associate in February 2001. Rob has developed an extensive client base within Queensland, Northern New South Wales and Western Australia. 

Prior to joining IAP, Rob has been employed as a nutritionist with Ridley Agriproducts, a feed manager with Whyalla Feedlot and also spent two years working in the Riverina on a sheep station. 

Rob completed both a Bachelor and Masters in Rural Science, as well as a Certificate in Meat Science at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW. Rob also completed a PhD with the University of Queensland in 2007. 

Rob is married and lives in Tamworth. Outside work and domestic bliss, Rob's greatest passion is attempting to master the bag pipes.

Stephen Bonner BAgSc(RuralTech), PhD

Consulting Nutritionist

 

Steve joined the IAP team as an Associate and Consulting Nutritionist in 2015.  Steve completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Rural Technology) at UQ Gatton in 2004 and in 2010 completed his PhD (also at UQ Gatton). His research investigated nutritional strategies to assist feedlot cattle under heat stress conditions. 

Steve grew up on his family's beef property in Northern NSW and has continued involvement in the breeder and finisher operation. He maintains a keen interest in all aspects of beef production.

 

Before joining IAP, Steve worked for two Australian livestock consulting firms; in meat processing innovation and intensive livestock environmental management. Steve has also worked as a leading hand in construction (concreting and electrical).
